Develop Regenerative Leads for Greater Impact and Business Growth

To be a leader in the regenerative future, you need to embrace 3 critical steps to gain your share of the regen market

Your Opportunity for Exponential Growth and Impact

Are you positioned to take advantage of the mainstream adoption of regenerative agriculture and brands?

The regenerative industry is sitting pretty for a major growth spurt. How is that going to happen?

The 3 Critical Steps to Take to Be the Leader of a Regenerative Future

#1 Connect and listen to everyone you can, find out their problem, and develop a solution to their problem. One problem – One solution. DO NOT OVERWHELM THEM

#2 Be obsessed with analytics and record keepingThe value of data-driven digital content can't be overstated. This translates into websites and social media that are informed by the interests of customers and competition

And it’s not all spreadsheets. Keep a file of who you talked with, what their problems were, what questions they had,  and who their friends are.

Analytics isn’t only about your ROI. Financial success comes when you make other people’s lives easier.

#3 Thank everyone who gives you feedback. Always ask why. Whether they became a customer or not, the data is critical to honing your solution to specific problems.

Give something of value away, don’t ask for anything in return, just deliver on your promise.

Is this too much for you to handle alone? Unless you’re superhuman, it should be. To remove the overwhelm, here’s Phase 2 of YOUR path to leadership in the regenerative industry.

Phase 2: Prioritize the Analytics in #2

Analytics isn’t just accounting. It’s about paying attention to what happened, you and your team’s responses, and how to achieve a better outcome next time. You need a team to keep track of the data. Charting a course for success is built on that data.

You are your company. Being aware of your own actions impacts your company’s success

Questions to ask yourself and data to evaluate.

Check mark for green if you can do something yourself. It is always a good idea to evaluate how many green checks you have. What Can I Do, What Do I Need to Outsource?      red checkmarks are areas of concern; either they need to be abandoned, or they need to be outsourced.

Check in green if you can do this yourself, red if you need to find someone to do it for you.

Remember: partnerships multiple possibilities.

Who did you speak with and how can you optimize conversations with them in the future?

This is as simple as voice recording at the end of the day who you spoke with, what their problems were, and any interesting personal facts about them.(Do they have a dog- name & breed, what is their favorite sport, what are their kids and spouse’s names). Personalization is important in a world overrun with noise from social media.

  • Listening, instead of talking, gives you a wealth of information.
  • It’s the quiet people in a room who have the answers.
  • People like to talk about themselves and their problems. To find the optimum solution to their problem you have to listen carefully.
  • Solving their problem is easy once you know what the real issue is (often it’s not the first thing they say). The questions “Why…” and “How does that work…” are powerful.

Listen, discover the problem, and offer the solution.

  • Often taken over by marketing or accounting.
  • The most successful businesspeople know exactly what’s happening in the industry and at their company.
  • Monthly reports of your KPIs keep you informed
  • Evaluate the value of historical KPIs. Markets change.
  • Take the lead and be agile, pivot to lead  the trend, not be a follower

When you’re an authority in your industry other businesses cite you, Google notices, and ranks you higher in the search results. More people see you, you’re more successful, a profitable virtuous cycle for your business and the environment.

Notice ROI is at the bottom of this long list (and it’s not complete) of analytics and record keeping. That’s because it depends on whether you did all the other steps first.

Now that you have more red checks than green, what do you do? Go to Phase 3

Phase 3: Develop a Network for Outsourcing

If you’re a founder, you’re wearing many hats. That will work for a few years. But when you start to scale, you will be your own obstacle to growth. So, here’s a helpful list of questions to ask potential partners as you grow your regenerative business. Be aware that almost all experts in any other field know nothing about regenerative agriculture. Or, if they think they do, it’s probably one of the many myths.

Are you familiar with the term regenerative and how do you define it?

There is no cookie-cutter definition of regenerative. Your definition will fit your land, your crops, and yourself. The overarching theme of regeneration is leaving the earth better than you found it. For many people, that also means their communities and the world.

If you’ve “played in the dirt” for any length of time, you know the difference between living soil and dead dusty dirt.  You know that the fungal/bacterial ratio has to be right, the pH has to be right, and living roots feed those microorganisms. Synthetic chemicals kill or short-circuit the plant/microbe relationships to create chemical dependency. You have far more resilience in both plants and soil when you take the time to create healthy soil.

Healthy soil = healthy plants = healthy people. We are dependent on the soil for many nutrients and microbial allies for gut health. It only makes sense that our gut contains many of the same microbial flora as in the soil, it’s where our food comes from! Maintaining a strong, healthy gut-brain connection is critical for immune function, thought, and longevity. Learn as much as you can about the soil-food-gut-brain connection. It is the future of our world.

Farming practices that capture atmospheric CO2 and store it in soils help mitigate climate change while improving soil health. Regenerative ag practices such as cover crops, reduced tillage, compost & biochar application, crop rotations, and agroforestry enhance soil’s ability to store carbon. By rebuilding soil organic matter, regenerative agriculture can offset gas emissions and even reverse climate change when scaled.
